August: Oklahoma is set in rural Oklahoma during the increasingly hot month of August. When their father disappears, the Weston sisters return home to support their mother. What should have brought comfort culminates in an explosive confrontation full of reopened wounds and suppressed emotions. But this family drama is more than that: it exposes the illusion of happiness in a Western world where money offers no security and the youngest generation struggles with the emotional legacy of those who came before them.<\/p>\n
