The Fortune of Limburg
South Limburg, between 1900 and 1970. A region shaped by the mine, the church, and the state. Three generations of one family live under the smoke of the Willem-Sophia mine and experience the rise and fall of an era. Pride, obedience, and resistance compete for precedence as industrialization, war, and broken promises profoundly change their lives.
The Fortune of Limburg is a poignant ode to the resilience, love, and unity of a Limburg family, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Marcia Luyten, published by De Bezige Bij.
The new theater script is written by Frans Pollux. Directors Servé Hermans and Pieter Kuijpers bring this captivating family epic to life on a grand scale, in the tradition of earlier spectacular productions such as Diary of a Shepherd’s Dog and It was Sunday in the South.
The DEMO Productions team is in full swing with the setup. Demo Productions provides the complete audio, lighting, and rigging production.
